The Role:

Lancaster University aims to secure a global reputation for research, training and engagement in fields aligned to cyber security and data science. This is underpinned by a significant investment of £19m over 5 years, to build capacity, recruiting 33 new academics to tackle a range of societal and technological challenges and developing supporting infrastructure at our Lancaster campus.

The role will develop and implement a communications and marketing strategy for cyber research, teaching and innovation at Lancaster. Working with the central communications team, you will oversee and take responsibility for all internal and external communications and promote the University's in this area. This position requires discretion and judgement in managing partner and stakeholder relations as well as a flexible set of skills including marketing and communications skills, web page creation, events, copy writing and social media.

The role will be based in the University's central Communications Team and will work closely with the Data and Cyber Growth Project Manager and the Security and Protection Science Management Team. A critical objective for the post holder will be to secure maximum external exposure for the initiative's developments and achievements, significantly contributing to positioning Lancaster as the destination institution for cyber excellence.
