The Role:
Three exciting new roles have been created to build a Research and Engagement team within the Faculty of Science and Technology at Lancaster University. The role holders will support our academic community to promote their research through a variety of media and will help deliver activities and events through which external stakeholders will engage with our world-leading research.
Lancaster University's purpose is to advance knowledge, wisdom and understanding through the excellence of our research and teaching. By engaging with others, we will use our collective intellectual and wider capabilities as a force for good and create positive economic, cultural, societal and environmental change. To enable this, the Research and Engagement team will work closely with academic and professional services colleagues across the Faculty and the wider institution to communicate our novel science to a global audience, coordinate events and support our research centres and collaborative activities.
These roles would suit candidates with the interest and ability to build successful working relationships with a diverse range of people. The post holders will be critical in engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and joined up working to maximise the positive impact of our research and engagement. Across the three roles, we will be looking to create a team which can engage and promote the range of disciplines within the faculty. Whilst all three role-holders will have strong communication and collaborative skills, we will be looking for collectively to cover skills and experiences such as research translation, digital and social media, data management and analytical, creativity, and event and meeting organising.
The grade 7 Manager role will also be the line manager for the two grade 6 Officer roles and be able to demonstrate experience of leading, managing and motivating a team of staff to achieve organisational objectives. Applicants who wish to be considered for the Manager role should apply for this post; such applicants will also automatically be considered for the Officer roles.

This is a full-time position and permanent role. You will be able to work flexible hours and, in a hybrid, (remote/in-person) manner.
