Job Details

Our client is a leading university based in Birmingham and are looking for someone to lead on the planning, development and delivery of IEE web, digital and e-commerce solutions to drive an increase in visitor traffic and subsequent conversion into valuable repeat customers for a portfolio of commercial products and services. You will manage a small web/digital support team.
Main responsiblities.
1. Lead on the design, build, testing, launch, ongoing maintenance and growth of a portfolio of 6+ B2B lead generating, user-focused Wordpress websites, which include but are not limited to BCU Advantage, BCU Business Services, STEAMhouse Marketing website, STEAMhouse Community Site, STEAM inc, STEAMstory, and project and campaign-based microsites such as Ecrofit
2. Lead on the development, testing and maintenance of e-commerce solutions that enable online payments for commercial products and services, including managing internal stakeholders and external payment gateway providers to deliver a fully integrated user first solution that supports BCU Enterprise income targets
3. Lead on the custom development of digital solutions to enable seamless CRM integration across all platforms to ensure data collection activity, and the customer data gathered, is secure, GDPR compliant, and can be triaged accurately for lead follow-up from sales teams
4. Lead on the backend redevelopment of all existing B2B websites to ensure they align and comply fully with the relaunched language of Google Analytics Four (GA4), to include but are not limited to Analytics, Tag Manager, Site Tools, Optimise and Site Console, ahead of the transition date of July 2023, to ensure all websites continue to be discoverable, run smoothly, and can be measured and reported on accurately
5. Lead on the custom development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of extensions and plugins associated with the above platforms to enhance the user and customer experience, which include but are not limited to the STEAMhouse Community Site and STEAMhouse Learning Management System (LMS)
6. Lead on the design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance of the STEAMhouse Community App to enable 24/7 mobile access and connectivity for Community Members to STEAMhouse Crew, other Members, business support, collaborations and discussions, e-commerce store, and professional development courses on the LMS
7. Lead on the custom development of API solutions to enable site integration of digital content and functionality hosted on external platforms, such as events and live streams
8. Lead on the investigation, development and launch of Git Repo to enable BCU's independence from STEAMhouse third party app creators, allowing full customisation and ownership of solutions and removal of ongoing associated costs
9. Lead on the management of Apple App Store and Google Play Developer accounts and all activities required to achieve main store listings and discoverability of the STEAMhouse App
10. Lead on website hosting and security, utilising web hosting administrative toolsets to monitor and maintain website performance including Wordpress file directory, CPU levels, bandwidth, disk usage, activity logs, and staging platforms.
11. Lead on SEO and content optimisation for B2B Wordpress websites and associated channels ensuring keyword and back-linking activity maximises visibility in target audience searches, drives an increase in organic visits and aligns with lead generating campaign activity to maximise visits and enquiries.
12. Lead on the build, delivery and measurement of BCU Advantage SME business support email campaigns, reviewing results and A/B testing activity to recommend improvements that ensure uplift in results month on month. Curate, optimise and publish supporting content from B2B team and internal and external content creators.
13. Lead on the management of BCU Advantage SME focused social media channels (which include but may not be limited to Twitter and LinkedIn) to engage and grow appropriate followers with a mix of user-need and promotional business support content. Work closely with B2B team to deliver on requirements of social media and content plans.
14. Support B2B marketing activities with the design and delivery of visual content such as imagery, infographics, video, web and social media assets.
15. Work closely with IT to ensure domains, hosting and custom digital developments are, user friendly, compliant and supported by IT due to inclusion within its Service Catalogue
16. Manage a small team to support with the delivery of the above.
17. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners to ensure a two-way exchange of relevant content to populate blog, news and events feeds.
18. Build strong relationships with BCU Marketing and external agencies and suppliers to align and maximise effectiveness of activities.
19. Keep up to date with digital trends, measurement tools, developments within tech and target audience and competitor activity to recommend positive changes that ensure BCU B2B digital activities are perceived as leading and innovative amongst peers and competitors.
20. Participate in on and off campus B2B events/exhibitions/forums etc. and offer digital and social media support where needed.
