The Office for Environmental Protection (OEP) is a new public body, established to improve and conserve the natural environment. We hold the government to account on its environmental commitments and advance environmental governance through independent oversight. We also provide advice on environmental law and deal with public authority compliance. With us, you’ll be playing your part in crucial work that promotes the environment’s importance.
This is a chance to play a key role in promoting our vital work and building our approach to communications from the ground up.
Joining our small, highly collaborative team, you’ll focus on the day-to-day running and co-ordination of our digital communications channels. This includes everything from our website to our intranet, social media accounts, monitoring activities and publication processes.
As part of this, you’ll coordinate the publication of impactful, standout content that does justice to our efforts as an organisation. You’ll publish documents, review and update text and imagery and devise new ways to improve our website.
Because we’re a small team, you’ll also have opportunities to contribute to media relations, public affairs, events and our wider digital communication strategies.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll have relevant experience in digital communications and using content management systems. You should also be able to work in an agile way and provide support across multiple workstreams. Being able to manage suppliers is important.
We’re also looking for candidates with the energy and drive to help us grow at pace. Equally, problem-solving and relationship-building skills are highly valuable. A degree-level qualification or the equivalent knowledge gained through experience is essential.
At OEP, you can take advantage of a wide range of benefits including flexible working, generous annual leave, outstanding learning and development, our occupational health service and a huge range of retail discounts.
