Your new role:
This role will be focused on supporting the PR team in developing the profile and reputation as the UK's leading recruiting firm and go-to commentator on issues impacting the world of work. The PR Executive will support key activity across national, regional and trade press and help build PR momentum for key campaigns, spokespeople, and key themes. This role will sit within the Communications Team and Wider Marketing Team at the central London office and presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and creative group of people. Key responsibilities:
PR planning and delivery
* Draft press releases
* Prepare briefing notes for media interviews
* Draft articles and comments for the media
* Identify and draft award submission opportunities
* Issue press releases and articles to media audiences
* Act as a key point of contact for press enquiries
* Develop relationships with key journalists
* Support UK-wide specialism and regional PR campaigns and activity
* Support the senior PR manager in PR planning
* Support the senior PR manager in working with freelancers and agencies
Insight and trends
* Monitor the news agenda and provide internal briefings to the communications team and key stakeholders
* Work alongside the senior PR Manager to identify key trends within the business and obtain information to create press stories
* Identify and stay on top of trends relating to the world of work and recruitment
Sponsorships
* Support the senior PR manager in delivering sponsorships for key business focus areas
* Research to identify new areas for sponsorship and paid media activity
* Support PR activity aligned to membership and support activity to drive internal engagement with CBI
PR measurement
* Evaluate press cuttings
* Produce press coverage reports for key stakeholders across specialist business and for the UK management team
* Produce internal articles on PR success and achievements
What you will need to succeed:
* 1-2 years' prior experience working in PR, either in-house or agency
* Writing for an external audience and according to brand guidelines
* Media relations across trade and regional media
* Experience of working with various stakeholders, including the media
* Prior experience of working with PR tools, such as press cuttings service and journalist database
* Ideally degree educated, with PR/Marketing/Communications qualifications
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* First-class people skills: ability to develop good working relationships with journalists and internal stakeholders
