Web Product Manager position working for a large higher education client

Your new company
An opportunity has arisen to join a Higher Education institution based in Preston. Due to a period of change and expansion this organisation is looking for a Web Product Manager to join their team, on a permanent fulltime basis.

Your new role
The Web Product Manager will lead To operationalise the University's marketing strategy for web, and lead the planning, delivery, marketing and maintenance of the public facing web site estate and our virtual experience platform. The corporate website attracts more than 10 million visitors per year and is the University's global shop window

It is the first interaction and initial impression of the organisation. Given the fiercely competitive higher education marketplace, the rapidly changing digital landscape and audiences who want rich, authentic, easy to consume and shareable content it is imperative that the website has a user‐centric approach and allows us to deliver the expectations of our digitally savvy customers and for the University to be relevant in this digital age.

What you'll need to succeed
The post holder will lead, coach and develop a robust team. Establishing goals, defining objectives and empowering the team to put the user at the forefront back by real data. They will also have a technical and web background but will ultimately act as the product manager, product owner for multiple platforms and services across the Universities digital estate. They will interface with colleagues in all parts of the University, acting as the website business partner, to understand their needs, outline web developments and changes to the team and ensure the timely and effective delivery of the necessary developments.

The Product Manager will co-ordinate the delivery and on-going management of the web product strategy, collaborating with the Head of Marketing and other key stakeholders as appropriate. Manage and maintain the web development and platform roadmap in line with the web product strategy, converting product vision into operational outputs. Oversee, manage and maintain the roadmap for virtual, always on platform in conjunction with our 3rd party supplier. Manage the overall data strategy for the website estate with a view to improvement and enhancement. Host stakeholder meetings and conduct user research and feasibility studies to feed the development/ 3rd parties backlog with ideas, concepts, business opportunities and efficiencies benefitting web site users, conversion and the commercial goals of the organisation. Monitor, evaluate and analyse the performance of the website estate and work with analysts and developers to seek continual improvements and resolve issues internally and externally.
