Communications Manager Based In Manchester

Your new role
As a Digital Communications Manager, your role ensures strategic oversight of all institute assets and platforms and works closely with the Communications and Engagement Manager. The role is closely aligned with the "Equipment Access" and "Catalyst for innovation" our mission Objectives. The incumbent is focused on building the brand through quality digital content. The post-holder will ensure targeted, focused campaigns around Products and Services including existing ones such as our schemes, and new ones as they come on stream. You will oversee the strategic use of all digital channels and assets, including oversight for the channels associated with the Sustainable Materials Innovation Hub. You will be lead on the website, including seeing through an immediate project to completely refresh the current site, via setting up a project team to ensure the needs of all stakeholders are met. You will produce the monthly newsletter (with content inputted from around the Partnership), oversee the strategic use of the CRM and ensure full website integration, working collaboratively with our IT team to ensure the CRM platform works seamlessly for all communications activity.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have a Degree and/or professional qualification in a related field, or relevant professional experience. Have a broad understanding of materials research and recent developments in the area. Have e experience of communications, marketing, public relations and/or journalism related to scientific research. A strong track record in creating, planning and delivering compelling, measurable communications strategies and expediting them using a coherent mix of channels and methods . Proven experience of and expertise in Wordpress CMS and other digital platforms . Experience of working with external agencies on website hosting and maintenance. You will have a good understanding of what content works for different channels and audiences. The ability to analyse and present digital performance metrics. The ability to act as an internal expert on digital best practice. Experience of briefing external designers and other creative consultants and contractors, overseeing the on-time delivery of work. And a track record of delivering projects to deadlines, working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll get in return
You will receive an equivalent salary of £32,000 a hybrid working pattern with 2 days a week in the office, standard holiday allowance, and the opportunity to be part of a small close team.
