Your new company
This organisation is a Society that was established in 1700s with the object of promoting the advancement of education and public interest in any form of literature, science, arts or public affairs. This organisation currently organises a programme of 30 lectures each year by acknowledged experts in a wide range of subjects. This Manchester city centre-based institution and is looking to recruit a third member of staff to support their plan to grow membership numbers, develop their programme and professionalise the administration of the Society. This member of staff will be employed on a 3 month interim basis.
Your new role
In your new role you will be reporting to the Partnerships and Membership Development Manager, the Events and Development Administrator will be responsible for events management across thew organisation. In your new role you will create and maintain a continually evolving record of events, including online, setting up events on the website and other online channels (e.g. Eventbrite), booking venues and catering (when required), dealing with special requests and orders and producing lecture registers and accompanying lecture materials (checklists, PowerPoint etc.). In your new job you will assist in coordinating memberships through responding to member queries by email, the CRM system, by phone or in person. Your new role will involve Sending out bulletins, programmes, Memoirs and Dalton papers. Monitoring bookings involving money: receiving and recording cheques, bank transfers and PayPal. Create membership and event reports as and when required, using data from multiple sources (e.g. Joinit, Survey Monkey).
What you'll need to succeed
This organisation is looking for an individual with to succeed, you will be able to confidently demonstrate strong IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft suit applications such as, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Teams. A successful candidate will have the ability to follow instructions and attention to detail in carrying them out. In your new job you will display a positive, flexible and helpful attitude to fellow staff, officers, all members and wider partners. A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work well on their own and as part of a team. Someone with and interest in Philosophy and literature is preferred but not essential.
What you'll get in return
This city centre-based role will give you the opportunity to work within a well-established You will be offered a salary of £21000 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements. You will be expected to work 35 hours per week with an annual leave allowance of 28 days.
