Your new role

1. Lead on developing and implementing strategic communications plans in relation to research, recruitment, social media strategy, communications themes, and external positioning; and provide strategic guidance on key external stakeholder, funder, and government relationships.
2. Accountable for the development and delivery of communication and engagement plans and targets for strategic area(s) of responsibility with relevant funders, charitable bodies, HEIs, etc. Evaluating their impact and value through agreed KPIs and objectives i.e., media outputs, etc. This will include effective planning and organisation of workload priorities and scheduling activity to meet targets. Deliver quarterly reports outlining impact of outputs, evaluating service performance utilising qualitative and quantitative metrics and future action plans.
3. Establish, maintain, and develop effective stakeholder relationships and key networks: governments, funding authorities, policymakers, media providers, opinion formers, charitable bodies, etc. regionally, nationally, and internationally, to achieve maximum impact through relevant media platforms exercising damage limitation tactics as necessary.
4. Actively build, establish, and maintain effective relationships internally through collaborative working in a matrix management structure, working directly


What you'll need to succeed

A1 Educated to degree level or equivalent experience of working in journalism and/or PR/media management. A2 In depth knowledge and understanding of media landscape in Scotland and the UK.
