Come and work with a leading public sector comms team in Lancashire.

Blackburn with Darwen Council’s comms team is looking for a new superstar. Is that you?

From communicating our services and support to 150k residents, to collaborating with global sports brand adidias, our work is both important and innovative.

If you’re already working in local government communications you’ll know that the cliché is true – no two days really are ever the same.

You’ll be amazed at the breath, scope and reach of our work, especially if you’ve never worked in local government digital comms.

If you have the skills, experience and passion we’ll provide the platform and the opportunity for your work to shine.

Our busy team is looking for a talented digital communications manager to take our already good digital offer to best in class levels.

We’re talking multi-channel – our website, our intranet, our extensive social media channels, our paid-for advertising and our email campaigns. This is about making sure it’s as simple and effective as possible for our residents and businesses to engage with us and access our services.

To do this we want someone to come in and shape our strategic approach as well as tactical delivery.

You’ll be savvy with all the major channels, skilled at innovating with new technology and platforms, understand how and where to best engage, and able to let insight and data guide our work and choices. But you’ll also see where these requirements fit with our overall communications strategy and support the council’s most important priorities.

Importantly, you’ll then be able to regularly review and evaluate the work being delivered to ensure a return on investment and genuine impact for all of our digital activity.

Our digital channels give us the opportunity to tell our story – we’re proud of what we do, in and for our community, and you can help us share this far and wide, creatively and effectively.

Your work will look and sound great and be able to stand out in a crowded digital market of content competing for attention.

Managing priorities and multiple projects effectively will be key and you’ll also need to be politically astute and understand how your work and outputs affect all of our stakeholders.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone wanting to make a difference and deliver truly engaging communications platforms.

We’re a tight team bursting with ideas and enthusiasm and you’ll be an important part of it.

Get in touch and tell us why you should come and join us.

We have so much more to tell you about the role but have we got you interested?
