HCPT are working exclusively with Hays to hire for the role of Head of Fundraising and Communications.

The successful candidate will be joining a motivated, dynamic and close-knit HQ team as they prepare to deliver the 2022 pilgrimage season after 2 years of very successful virtual activities and transformational projects. That team in turn supports thousands of volunteers across Great Britain whose commitment and dedication to their mission know no bounds.

Your new role
HCPT seeks a committed professional in the sphere of fundraising and communications, who is able to dig deep, lead, collaborate and ensure that the team delivers. You will be tasked with creating the Marketing and Communications strategy and utilising your teams skillset to deliver in line with company objectives

You will execute research to ensure that the organisation are using the best methods to bring HCPT to the forefront and drive brand awareness to ultimately result in further support/volunteers and engagement.

You will ensure that the data/systems are updated and that communications are delivered consistently and are relevant to those the team will target

You will report directly to Philip Sparke CEO and deliver reports, stats, and feed through overall successes and analysis to him and other senior leaders within the organisation to work as a collective effort.

You will agree annual income targets with the Finance Committee

You will manage a budget/ forecasting and cashflow within the fundraising remit.

What you'll need to succeed

* Experience of people management with the ability to lead and manage a team including volunteers.

* Significant fundraising experience, including most or all of the following fundraising streams: direct marketing, major donors, trusts, legacies, community fundraising, corporates.

* Proven track record of securing targeted income.
* Able to demonstrate a proven track record in researching, identifying and accessing funds.

* Experience of producing fundraising or marketing and communications plans.

* Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and departments.

* Experience of quality management to include devising and embedding fundraising processes, or equivalent.
* Good IT skills including use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel & Word with a familiarity with fundraising database operation.

* Financial skills - to include budgeting and financial forecasting.
* A degree qualification or equivalent level of intellectual ability.

* Basic knowledge of the issues faced by disabled and disadvantaged children and adults.
* Willingness to travel across the UK, and internationally, staying away from home on occasion (including 12 nights in Lourdes at Easter each year).

An understanding of the Roman Catholic faith would be an advantage as would an understanding and experience of pilgrimage.

An ideal candidate would also fulfil the following criteria:

* Experience in major donor fundraising.

* Understanding of the relevant market place and other actors in the field.

* Innovative and proactive, able to seize opportunities and develop imaginative proposals.
* Experience of successfully devising and embedding fundraising processes and systems.
* Experience of the production of printed and on-line promotional material.
* Experience of media relations.

* Ability to write in a range of styles and produce, clear concise and accurate copy.
* Experience of marketing communications programmes to include brand management and quality control processes.
