Our Public Sector Client are looking for a Communications Officer on a temporary basis to join their corporate Comms Team in Winchester. This represents an excellent opportunity for somebody who is looking for a full-time, temporary role to support a fantastic organisation.
Your new role
This role will involve ensuring consistent and effective communication and engagement with local residents and stakeholders.Managing and building the external media relationships and support internal colleagues in the production of high quality written content for all audiences.
You will attend Committee meetings to closely manage the press and relay areas which are of interest to officers as appropriate
You will adhere to and promote protocols and sign off processes for the release of information
You will develop, write, edit and review content for the Council's digital and traditional
communications channels, including press releases, website, publications, and social media
You will analyse and interpret of data and statistics from a variety of sources
What you'll need to succeed
Two years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the public or third sectors
Professional communications or press background
You will have an exceptional understanding of the difference in tone and how to address different audiences
Great persuasive and negotiating skills
Resilient, driven and able to work to deadlines.
Good level of education
