Your new role
An NHS trust is looking for a digital communications officer who will work across their digital channels.

Key tasks

Social media:

* Demonstrate a good understanding of what makes an engaging social media post,
* Experience in creating content, finding/using good imagery, accessibility, and working with internal and external stakeholders on content.

Tasks will include:

* Writing, scheduling and posting social media content across our channels: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
* Managing our social media content planner/calendar
* Advising colleagues on what makes good social media content
* Responding to social media posts and feeding back comments to relevant departments, ensuring questions or complaints are dealt with in a timely manner.


* Strong eye for a good story, the ability to newsgather, and an excellent writer.

Tasks will include:

* Writing news stories or other content for our website, including announcements, initiatives and human interest stories
* Working with the wider communications team to identify news angles/opportunities and see these through
* Interviewing.

Website management:

* Working with content management systems, publishing and editing content, working with suppliers to improve the user experience and troubleshoot technical issues, and working with internal stakeholders/subject matter expects to improve content and user journeys.

Tasks will include:

* Updating and publishing content in the back end of our external website, building pages (such as news story pages) and editing content across the website, often liaising with colleagues across the trust.
* Improving key pages so they're as engaging as possible
* Handling and resolving queries or problems relating to the website from people with varying degrees of computer literacy.

Intranet management:

* Work with our internal communications team to ensure the smooth running of our intranet, that continual improvements are made and that colleagues are empowered to publish and update their own content.

Tasks will include:

* Helping to train colleagues so they can create and update their own content
* Helping colleagues with technical issues, such as back end permissions queries
* Updating/editing content in the back end, including writing news stories or notices
* Working with our supplier to improve our intranet and identify and resolve any blockers
* Using insight to improve our intranet, ensuring key landing pages are engaging and fit for purpose.
