Main Purpose of the Post

To lead the Marketing team’s content function for online and offline campaigns across the College’s key brands; produce content and concepts to enhance and develop the brands’ identity and reach to multiple audiences through diverse channels.


  1. To lead the Content Team within the Marketing Department to ensure time is managed effectively and content optimised for multiple uses.To work within the Content Marketing Team to produce a range of online and offline content in order to promote our programmes and services.
  2. Optimise media opportunities and liaise with College spokespersons to ensure brand message is communicated clearly.
  3. To coordinate content activity as part of overall campaigns, including liaison with freelancers.   To assist in the planning stages of marketing campaigns and events for all College brands, agreed by the Marketing Manager. Proofreading content to check spelling and grammar. Work with Marketing Strategy/Data Lead and the Design Lead to develop and implement campaign concepts. Ensure the customer is at the centre of marketing and that all content clearly communicates our brand key messages. To develop and enhance our reputation for high quality and professionalism. Communications crisis and reputation management. To support where required with ad-hoc projects. Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and, along with your line manager, make suggestions to vary the scope and application of your responsibilities within the reasonable framework appropriate to this level of post.

Job Activities

  1. Involvement in internal and external media events, exhibitions and activities, including organising materials and equipment. Carry out regular market reviews to ensure up-to-date knowledge of competitor activity and customer requirements. To contribute to the annual marketing plan. To work with the Marketing Manager to ensure marketing activities are aligned to overarching strategic objectives and delivered within operational budgets.  Undertake other duties as required by the Marketing Manager in order to achieve the job purpose.   Follow safe working practices and procedures personally (such as the wearing of safety equipment where necessary) in line with Health and Safety regulations.

Professional and Personal Responsibility

  1.   To represent the College professionally at external meetings,    exhibitions and other external events.
  2. To assure full compliance with key policies, notably Single Equality, Health and Safety and Safeguarding. To undertake invigilation duties from time to time To carry out such other duties as the Principal may reasonably request.

37 hours per week.  A flexible approach to the working hours is required, in line with the needs of the College.
