Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) is the UK’s market-leading specialist awarding and assessment organisation developing and delivering world-class vocational and technical qualifications in a range of service sectors including Hair and Beauty, Aesthetics, Complementary Therapies, Sport, Active Health & Fitness and Learning & Development. 

Operating for almost 60 years we have around 100,000 learners studying each year at one of our 2,500 approved centres worldwide. This year we launched our new vision and five-year strategy which focuses on building our core purpose of advancing education, providing direct opportunities to employment and improving career prospects through transformation of services to support learning and assessment. We are determined to extend our reach to new learners by diversifying our current apprenticeship offer, championing higher-level qualifications and supporting a range of other exciting initiatives.

To support the delivery of our new vision, strategic plan and newly awarded Government contract to deliver T Level Technical Qualification, we have created a new role of Chief Marketing Officer. This position will be a key member of our Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) contributing to strategic planning and to design and deliver our marketing strategy to support the delivery of our growth and impact.

We have an ambitious plan to increase our income and learner base by 50% in the next five years, so this role is critical to us achieving that goal. Providing leadership, management and support to the marketing team, our CMO will develop and implement best and modern marketing practices across VTCT, taking a data-driven approach and drive forward the digital transformation of our marketing and intelligence functions.

Our CMO will be a senior marketing and communications executive and will have responsibility for all marketing activities, including market research, planning, demand generation, pipeline development, value proposition development, positioning, branding, event planning, channel marketing and public relations. You will have worked at a senior executive level in innovative and progressive organisations with a strong commercial, planning and business development focus, to be able to develop and implement a marketing strategy and plan that supports our 2021 vision, strategy and growth. 

You will have excellent knowledge of effective marketing practices, processes and procedures relating to commercial activity, driving CRM and marketing automation and a strong track record working on both B2B and B2C strategies. You also need to bring understanding of big data, digital marketing and technologies with strong skills across digital, marcomms, PR, events, product and proposition marketing.  

Managing a team of eight, you will be a modern leader with an energetic personality, highly collaborative and supportive with a ‘can do’ attitude to inspire high performance and outcomes. An interest in education and/or our sectors would be helpful but not essential.
