The Royal College of Art is an internationally renowned postgraduate art and design institution. Founded in 1837, it is also the world’s oldest art and design university-level institution in continuous operation and the most research intensive. The RCA has been ranked by the highly regarded QS survey, as the number one art and design university-level institution in the world for the seven consecutive years in which the survey has been conducted between 2015 and 2021.   Among its core audiences – students, artists, and designers – the RCA brand is legendary. The RCA’s continued success and innovation is impressive. Currently developing a new strategy from 2022, the RCA continues to design a future for influencing global culture as well as engaging more local communities. The expansion of the RCA’s Battersea campus and the refurbishment of the Darwin Building on Kensington Gore are important elements as part of the RCA’s evolution into a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) focused university.

The College is looking for an outstanding individual to become its next Executive Lead, Marketing, who will deliver a measurable, strategic marketing programme which supports the RCA’s business imperatives; work with stakeholders across the RCA to provide strategic and tactical, multi-channel marketing; and deliver innovative marketing tactics to support the student recruitment journey.  As part of the wider Communications & Marketing team and reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, the new Executive Lead, Marketing will be fully involved in the development and delivery of an integrated Communications & Marketing strategic plan.

The successful candidate will have strong marketing experience and skills, with an emphasis on digital communications; demonstrable understanding of changes in the university sector, including pressures on student recruitment; strong commercial acumen; and will be inspired by the work of the RCA and the marketing opportunities it provides.
