Business Development Manager - Outsourcing Services opportunity, remote working with UK travel

Hays Marketing is working in partnership with Falck Fire Services UK who are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager - Outsourced Services to join their team. The role will be based in Aylesbury, however this will be a remote working role with UK travel. Falck are committed to caring for people and society, and to be there whenever there is need for them. The role:

The Business Development Manager will identify and secure good profitable business opportunities for all departments within the business, focusing primarily on the growth of the outsourced services portfolio. The role will be largely client and market facing with ownership of the business development process from strategy to contract implementation. You will be charged with increasing the market visibility of the company, developing strategic business relationships with potential customers and other associated organisations with influence in the target industries, including the Aviation, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical & Nuclear Sectors.

You will develop and manage the bid pipeline by gathering market intelligence to map the landscape of opportunities, build and manage relationships with key stakeholders prior to entry into tenders and be responsible for bid preparation before leading the tender process, adding value and effective support to the team by driving all day to day bid activity. Ensuring the bid framework procedures and governance are adhered to and ensuring bid documentation is of a high standard, is clear, appropriate to the project and communicates the agreed win strategies and win themes.

Main Areas of Responsibility Key Goals:


* Deliver annual targets for growth focussing on both Revenue and Gross Margin.
* Develop departmental operating budget and controls, reporting performance against budget monthly
* Responsible for additional performance metrics (KPIs) and targets to include pipeline development, win conversion rates.


Business Growth & Strategy:


* Develop and manage innovative strategies to increase Falck's profile and develop opportunities to extend Falck Fire Services' market share.
* Lead overall business development, sales and marketing activity, building a branding programme of seminars, conferences and professional association meetings to attend.
* Develop and manage positive business relationships with new and existing customer stakeholders to ensure Falck is perceived positively and has increased opportunity to take part in and win bids.
* Develop and maintain accurate market intelligence to inform the short, medium and long term business growth strategy, leading to selected contract award and sales growth.

Skills / Qualifications Key Attributes


* Adaptable business leader with a positive, proactive approach, a natural curiosity and a willingness to learn and apply new skills
* Degree level of education or Management qualification (NVQ or equivalent).
* High levels of commercial experience and the confidence to challenge decisions constructively
* Self-starter with the highest of personal standards and the ability to solve challenges with limited guidance, seek missing information, make decisions and use own initiative
* Developed network of contacts throughout target sectors and relevant industry exposure desirable
* Strong evaluation skills to respond effectively to client requests, including input into bid/no-bid decisions, identifying win strategies, solution design, and risk and opportunities logs.
* Proven ability to work under pressure to plan and deliver compliant, professionally produced proposals within client-defined timeframes, and to manage multi-workstream opportunities with many contributors
* Experience of building relationships with both internal departments and client representatives
* Ability to analyse, interpret and apply complex data and information and to prioritise conflicting business demands within tight deadlines
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel UK wide as required by the business
* Business curiosity both customer and internal focussed and able to establish relations on different levels of the organisation to keep at the forefront of things.
* Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills
* First class IT skills across relevant software and Office product range
* Strong time management/prioritisation skills self-confident, diplomatic but firm under pressure
* Ability to deal with sensitive & confidential matters as necessary
* Outsourced services experience is essential to be successful in this role

In return they are offering a competitive salary up to £65,000 (doe), £6,000 car allowance, generous bonus package, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, 7.5% employer pension contribution with remote working.
