Communications Planner

Your new role
For this role you will work with the communications team to establish annual, quarterly and weekly priority communications plans while managing their progress against deadlines. This will involve liaising with different teams across the council including interactions with council members, politicians and senior management. A good understanding of local government planning and operating cycles will be important.

What you'll need to succeed

* Experience working in Local or Central Government in a communications role
* Strategic planning experience within a public sector organisation
* Internal and external stakeholder engagement experience
* Understanding of local government planning and operating cycles
* Experience of managing a complex workload, managing integrated communications plans
* Political sensitivity, with the ability to exercise discretion, judgement and confidentiality when dealing with external stakeholders.
* Great written and spoken communication skills
