Communications Consultant

Your new role
For this role you will provide advice, guidance and support to the Acting Head of Media on press strategy and difficult media enquiries. You will work part time (around 1 - 2 days per week) on a consulting basis to strengthen the communications and media team throughout the coronavirus pandemic. You will need proven senior media and communications experience within large public sector organisations to provide the necessary support, with experience within local government desirable but not essential.

What you'll need to succeed

* Senior communications experience at "Head of" level for a large public sector organisation
* Experience dealing with high profile press and media enquires
* Experience evaluating communications campaigns across a variety of media channels
* Experience of stakeholder engagement and influencing at all levels of a public sector environment
* Experience delivering engagement on key campaign messages across digital channels
* Strong project management skills and experience of leading multi-disciplinary project teams
* Previously led change programmes in a large organisation
* Evidence of using a range of internal communication channels to influence different audiences
