Job title: Digital Marketing Manager (maternity cover)

Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract – 12 month maternity leave cover

Reporting to: Head of Brand & Marketing

Direct reports: Digital Marketing Executive

Location: Currently based at home due to Covid-19. Role to be based from either our London or Basingstoke office, with travel to either site as required. There is also scope for this role to be worked from home on a number of days per week.

Job in a nutshell

Responsible for all our digital communications channels, including strategy, planning and implementation. This role plays a pivotal role in driving traffic to our channels and planning and executing digital customer communications which enhance our brand and provide considered, creative and effective end-to-end customer journeys.

What you will do

  • Owning the strategy and hands-on execution of all digital channels for private customer activations, inline with the overall customer strategy and business priorities. This includes:
    • Email (incl. automated programmes)
    • PPC
    • Social (paid and organic)
    • SEO (with input from the Digital team)
    • Referral
    • Affiliates
    • Display
  • Driving relevant traffic to our brand’s digital channels, ensuring an excellent and consistent (on brand) experience
  • Managing multiple agencies across Email, Performance Media and Referral, providing clear direction on key business and brand objectives and ensuring they deliver on time and on budget, but also getting the best out of these relationships
  • Measuring and reporting performance of all digital marketing campaigns, assessing these against target ROI and KPIs whilst providing continual feedback to senior stakeholders
  • Managing the digital marketing budget
  • Working closely with the marketing, commercial, content and design teams to co-ordinate campaigns and help to define the Marketing calendar
  • Ensuring that digital marketing plans are joined up with other communication channels and work alongside other marketing activities instore and online
  • Working closely with the Digital team to design and implement excellent customer journeys and ensure campaigns are appropriately reflected onsite
  • Managing and mentoring the Digital Marketing Executive, who will support on the day-to-day execution of campaigns across all digital channels
  • Being the go-to for all things digital marketing and keep abreast of industry trends to keep Berry Bros. & Rudd at the forefront of digital marketing for our current and prospective customers

What you will bring to the role

Skills, knowledge and behaviours

  • Solid experience in similar digital marketing role, ideally agency side, with a background of working with briefs
  • Accustomed to hitting the ground running, picking up existing plans and managing multiple projects
  • Strong background with working with agencies and driving them to meet agreed KPIs is vital
  • Comfortable both setting strategy and being hands on with the delivery of it – experience of working directly within email platforms and marketing automation, Facebook business manager and google analytics
  • Excellent working knowledge of the current digital environment and trends, with a sound understanding of best practice for each channel
  • Track record of delivering and executing digital marketing campaigns that meet brand and commercial objectives
  • Proven Email Marketing experience, having spent time managing CRM strategy and campaign management – ideally with working experience of email marketing software
  • Strong grasp of customer segmentation and techniques to cost-effectively drive customers through the acquisition, conversion, retention funnel
  • Excellent understanding and experience of managing Social Media (Paid and Organic), PPC and other paid digital media
  • Experience of Google Analytics, reporting on conversion and return on investment
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret raw rata in order to manage budgets, optimise spend and identify opportunities across key performance channels
  • Experience of project management and people management, with an ability to motivate a team and bring people together to achieve a common goal
  • Ability to think differently, challenge assumptions and bring a fresh approach
  • Strong intuition on how brands translate into a digital space, and how design and copy effectively come together to communicate key messages in an engaging and intelligent way
  • Ability to collaborate with, inspire and motivate other colleagues internally, both within the wider marketing team and across all practice areas.
  • Excellent organisational skills, the ability to multi-task, prioritise and problem solve - as well as identify and implement the best processes for the wider team to work to
  • Proactive and enthusiastic approach, being ready to get stuck in and pick things up quickly
  • Willingness to work in a flexible manner, sometimes out of usual offices hours to support events or achieving deadlines
  • Supportive and nurturing people manager, with a desire to mentor
  • Experience with prestige or luxury retail brands
  • Wine knowledge not essential, but a willingness to learn is desirable
