This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global legal firm as a Business Development Manager providing support to the firm's market leading Africa practice.

The role holder will be joining a truly cross practice team, with partners drawn from across the firm's entire network, and will enjoy a broad and varied role. Africa is one of the fastest growing markets and the firm has made a strategic decision to develop their Africa practice, investing in business development to leverage the firm's strengths and maximise the opportunities. The successful applicant will play a key and central role in the firm's ambitious business plans for the practice. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, EMEA EIPAF, you will work closely with the firm's two Africa based offices in Cairo and Johannesburg and also with large African focused practices in the network, most notably in Paris. Responsibilities will include the provision of research and analysis for key BD and client targeting initiatives, managing support for pitches, proposals and presentations and coordinating country visits by partners to priority African countries, helping with planning and key logistics and ensuring follow up after each visit. On the marketing side, the Business Development Manager will contribute to ideas and projects which raise the profile of the practice, managing the principal touch points partners need to grow and develop relationships. You will also coordinate all directories submissions and legal awards, ensure best in class infrastructure and provide support for key internal communications.

For this particular role, it is essential that candidates are bright graduates or equivalent with a strong track record of experience and achievement in a specialist or junior manager level role in a law firm or other professional services environment, to include an excellent track record of project managing and delivering pitches and proposals. Knowledge and an interest in Africa, its markets and culture are prerequisite for this challenging Business Development Manager role, while French language skills would be advantageous.
