Marketing Manager – Sustainability Consultancy

Marketing Manager – Sustainability Consultancy
London / Remote Based

Action Sustainability is a leading consultancy with the aim of inspiring sustainable business. Our team comprises 30 full and part time employees and associates. Many of our clients are sector leaders on sustainability and supply chain issues and we are proud of our reputation for leading the thinking in this area. In summary, we:
+ Run the award-winning Supply Chain Sustainability School, including the industry-leading Fairness, Inclusion & Respect (FIR) programme.
+ Support our clients to use our Sustainability Tool to report their progress on sustainability actions
+ Led the authoring of the ISO 20400 in sustainable procurement and are now leading global adoption through our social enterprise arm, Action Sustainability CIC and our commercial consultancy services.
+ Provide bespoke, specialist business advice, training, and practical tools to leading organisations such as Siemens, the Houses of Parliament, Warwick University, the NHS and British Land.

Reporting to our Senior Project Manager – Hilary the Marketing Manager's remit will include:
+ To develop and deliver a marketing and communications strategy for the three parts of the business with clear key performance indicators.
+ To utilise data to automate and improve customer engagement and learning journeys on the Supply Chain Sustainability School’s digital platform.
+ To report on the impact of the business’s digital channels and platforms, and recommend action to continually improve them.
+ To lead and manage the Marketing team to deliver high performance in the Supply Chain Sustainability School, engaging a 30,000+ membership to undertake learning digitally; meeting quarterly KPI’s and targets.
+ Develop, coach and line manage the Marketing team to foster a high performing and motivated team.
+ To input into the continuous improvement of Action Sustainability’s digital platforms and channels – across School, Consultancy and Tool.
+ To design and deliver innovative initiatives to promote the School's training in its various formats (virtual face to face training, learning pathways, e-learning etc) with its Partners, in order to increase membership.
+ To support the Consultancy team to devise new product and/or sector-specific marketing drives to engage new clients, including organising and promoting events, increasing our social media presence, gathering and curating case study material, managing our contacts database, and maintaining our website.
+ To shape and drive the marketing plan for the Sustainability Tool to engage new clients.
+ Seek and promote cross-fertilisation of marketing plans and actions between School, Consultancy and Tool.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
+ Excellent digital marketing experience, particularly in understanding audiences and transforming customer engagement and journeys
+ The effective use of data to automate and drive customer engagement
+ Experience of using Mailchimp and its ability to automate and personalise customer engagement or other email automation CRM platforms such as Braze, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing or HubSpot
+ Experience of optimising social media channels and using software such as Hootsuite or Buffer
+ Strong people management skills
+ Passion for and understanding of sustainability
+ A commercial approach and excels at working at pace
+ Highly organised with a good attention to detail
+ Well-honed communication skills and the ability to summarise key information with recommended actions
+ Experience of commissioning creative work such as web designs, infographics, and leaflets with an “eye for design” i.e. understands what looks good and works in a B2B environment
+ Proficient copywriter producing compelling content for digital and social platforms
+ Taking initiative across all three of our service areas, and leading the Marketing team by example
+ Having a ‘can do’ attitude and being willing to learn and continuously improve
Applicants may be educated to UK degree level or equivalent (NVQ level 6) or have equivalent experience, skills, and knowledge.
+ Salary: c.£45,000 depending on experience
+ Holidays: 25 days plus 8 statutory holidays plus 1 day for birthday
+ Other benefits: 8% employer contribution to pension, fitness allowance and cycle to work scheme.
+ Location Under current Government restrictions the role will be home-based, but as restrictions relax, we would expect the applicant to regularly work with the team in our London office.
