A top 20 international law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager for a truly international role, based in the Corporate & Commercial International Practice Group, where you will work strategically and tactically to plan, deliver and lead incisive and value-added business development support.

This is a great opportunity for a client-focused, self-starter to work with the Corporate & Commercial International Practice Group. The role holder will collaborate in the development of the business development budget and take responsibility for monitoring expenditure and ensuring efficient financial control. You will play a proactive role in developing and supporting business development initiatives, ensuring effective coordination with sector and office representatives and assist partners, in the tendering and pitching processes, including managing the logistics of the pitch process, gathering relevant material and information and writing formal responses, as directed. The successful candidate will also play an active role client relationships, driving an increased level of client listening activity, strengthening the connections between the group and the firm's client programme. From a communications perspective, the Business Development Manager will contribute to the formulation of internal and external communications strategies and will subsequently implement accordingly, ensuring best practice is observed. You will develop and manage the content of written communications including factsheets, web pages, intranet pages and all e-communications and must help to strengthen the firm's reputation in relevant product areas through the identification of speaking, advertising and media opportunities and project manage both directory and award submissions as necessary.

The ideal candidate will hold a university degree or equivalent in a business, marketing or a related area and will possess extensive marketing and business development experience, ideally gained in a Big 4 or international law firm. Experience working with people of different cultures and preferably in an international role would be an advantage. The Business Development Manager must have a proven track-record in working with teams to develop business and client relationships and a well-developed understanding of marketing and business development strategy and implementation. Flexibility and a willingness to work additional hours on occasion will be required.
