The objective of this press officer role is to maximise public awareness and support the work of the busy press office

Description

Key responsibilities:

* Responding to enquires and requests to the press office, to ensure a quick response in conjunction with team members.

* Managing and reactivating the media log to meet deadlines, ensuring that all enquiries are recorded and followed up.

* Ensuring efficient and accurate handover of media enquiries to the PR Senior management team to progress smoothly.

* Supplier relationship management of the press office systems and media monitoring system, journalist database, forward planner and co-ordinate coverage analysis.

* Working with PR Managers, to support the teams finance processes and budget management all year round including raising PO's, invoices, expenses, booking accommodation and travel.

* Oversea the forward planning, diary maintaining and other key events.

* Developing and maintaining good working relations within all types of media, including newspapers, magazines, radio, television and presenting a professional, positive and content face of the organisation.

* Assisting within the development and research of media campaigns on behalf of the organisation

* Planning meetings, contributing to team ideas, having a fresh approach on media and keeping up to date with industry developments.

* Assist with event management in supporting of public launces and events.

* Providing administrative and logistical support to the organisation.


Profile

Skill set:

* Experience working within charity sector

* Brilliant organisational skills

* Ability to plan, manage and prioritise a heavy workload

* Excellent telephone skills

* Good IT skills including Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint

* Able to take flexible approach to problem solving

* Experience of media relations and targeting different audiences

* Experience of working as part of a team where good communication and co-ordination is essential

* Experience of researching or handling complex requests or information and accurately relaying the information to colleagues

* Previous experience working together with partners to achieve shared goals
