An exciting junior opportunity has arisen for a Marketing & Business Development Assistant to join an entrepreneurial and dynamic specialist law firm.

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, the successful applicant will enjoy a broad role across the full marketing and business development mix. The main focus of the role initially will be the implementation of the firm's communications and BD events plans with a view to ensuring that the firm demonstrates its expertise effectively, stands out from competitors and builds and strengthens relationships with clients and contacts. This will involve using digital tools including email marketing, websites and social media and include working closely with external organisations and suppliers. The Marketing & Business Development Assistant will support the firm's events education and hospitality programme through venue selection, event organisation, event advertising, presenter and materials preparation, merchandising, on the day hosting and post event review. Supplier liaison will be involved along with elements of copy writing and some design work. The successful candidate will also provide support for tenders and pitches, the development and launch of new services and products, thought leadership, PR initiatives and research. For the right person, the job will progress into a Marketing & Business Development Executive role.

The Marketing & Business Development Assistant will be a resourceful, tenacious, self-starter with good communication skills, especially copywriting, and a can do approach to work. You will currently be using social media creatively and have IT skills including experience of databases, spreadsheets, surveys and presentation and design software. An understanding of search and social optimisation will be helpful. The successful candidate must also possess an innate sense of curiosity as well as a robust character as the role holder will be expected to voice their opinions and views.
