Exceptional consumer insight & planning skills are key for this challenging new role with one of the UKs fastest growing companies, developing and pioneering new consumer propositions in the household food market.  This is an opportunity to join a trailblazing business with huge growth ambitions and a dynamic leadership team.

Working alongside insight, brand, digital and innovation specialists and partner agencies, you’ll lead the insight strategy for the business – using insight and data to identify consumer drivers and motivations and market gaps to develop and validate new brand propositions and compelling and engaging digital experiences.   You’ll have a natural curiosity about what makes people tick, with the ability to inspire those around you to embrace and get behind your ideas and recommendations.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the consumer insight strategy, managing short and longer term projects spanning a wide range of issues and utilising ad-hoc and continuous techniques.
  • Leading best practice consumer planning and opportunity identification through a deep understanding of consumer needs and motivations.
  • Co-leading innovation pipeline projects, identifying gaps and opportunities for innovation in the market and working cross-functionally to bring new initiatives to market.
  • Managing the insight budget on a day to day basis, working proactively with direct reports and stakeholders to ensure the needs of the business are met through a relevant and effective insight plan.

Key Skills Checklist
This is a role for a super-smart strategic thinker with exceptional insight & research skills, working with major consumer brands and possibly in a tech/digital/on-line business too.  You will ideally have client-side experience as well as an agency/consultancy training too, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with insights at its core.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build robust, productive relationships with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Proven consumer insight expertise spanning innovation, brand, positioning, user experience and shopper strategy.
  • Experience of in-house research tools & methodologies (online sources, surveys, interviews etc.) and experience of managing agency relationships.
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented with excellent verbal, written & presentations skills.
  • Analytically based degree from a top-tier university.
