The Senior Media Strategist / Planner Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Media Strategist to take a key leading role in our expanding media team. You will have worked directly on strategy and planning of media activity – with a sound knowledge of multiple media channels and a comprehensive knowledge of digital strategy. You will now be looking to move away from day to day implementation, and instead focus on presenting media strategy to clients, developing senior client relationships to grow existing client accounts and contribute to new business.

Reporting in to the Audience Director you will take ownership when in client facing situations to communicate results and have a consultative approach when making recommendations based on your findings. You will work collaboratively with our account leads and media specialists to build strategic plans, and oversee the output of key client accounts.

About You:

Experience in an agency environment is essential – we’re looking for a senior media strategist who fully understands and thrives on the high paced, pressurised environment of agency life – and passionate about providing clients with out of the box thinking to overcome challenges.

Essential:

+ We’re looking for someone with an excellent eye for detail – you will be juggling multiple senior client stakeholders, staff members, and client strategies – but deal with the detail in a flexible and dynamic way
+ Whilst experience across the full Media spectrum is ideal, proven experience in cross channel digital strategy building is essential (minimum 5 years working in a media role) – you should clearly understand the rapidly evolving digital media landscape and be able to talk consultatively to clients about challenges and opportunities.
+ You should have clear strategic foundations to your media planning recommendations – and have confidence independently developing robust media strategy and plans, and presenting them compellingly to senior client stakeholders
+ Depth of client management experience – has worked closely with clients F2F, via phone and email on a daily basis to set strategies and plan £10k to £1m+ a month cross-channel plans and regularly report progress to them
+ Experience of working collaboratively with media planners and buyers – providing oversight and guidance to the day to day client progression of each account, challenging the day to day
+ Excellent understanding of tracking methodologies and techniques, but also consultative in advising on wider business impact and performance outside of just digital metrics
+ Excellent knowledge of the digital landscape with the ability to discuss a clear point of view on trends and opportunities for upcoming client campaigns.

Your Day to Day:

You will take responsibility for key client relationships across a selection of our highest profile Media accounts, as well as developing strategies for new and potential clients.

Here’s what to expect in the day-to-day role:

+ Onboarding, owning and nurturing new and existing key Media client relationships – collaborating with them to gain a deep understanding of business goals, and leading the development and management of effective integrated media plans for them.
+ Maintaining clear oversight of key media accounts – from budgets to timelines – and overseeing all campaign rollouts and implementation by team members for total accuracy and best practice
+ Working with the Audience Director to develop effective processes for the Media team as it grows and we win new Clients – to ensure our high standards are maintained
+ Identifying new opportunities in the marketplace, carrying out pitch prep and attending pitches
+ Liaising with internal and external teams and undertaking own research to collate market and customer insight to support and justify media laydown. Strong working knowledge of industry tools.
+ Working to build and maintain relationships with media owners and positioning eight&four at the forefront of media best practice amongst our industry partners.
+ Be able to provide consultancy and recommendations on attribution, media mix modelling and planning tools to be able to report on audience behaviours and to provide channel recommendations.
+ Negotiate with media partners to maximise budget potential, compiling budget and activity recommendations into client facing documents.
+ Knowledgeable around campaign performance measurement, with a clear understanding of how activity can be optimised across activity to deliver on client objectives and KPIs.
