Head of Sales – Consumer Healthcare Products

Smart, ambitious, strategic thinking sales leader with a track record of driving significant business growth, required for this exciting role with a global player in the OTC consumer healthcare market.  As Head of Sales for the UK and Ireland, you will lead a team of c.10 account managers at different levels, working with major customers across all key retail and on-line channels, looking after a strong portfolio of well-known, well-supported OTC brands.  This is a role to challenge the best!  You will be responsible for building a roadmap to double the size of the business within the next 5 years – developing a clear vision and commercial strategy that your team will own and deliver, and the senior leadership team will support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and driving a clear strategic vision and commercial strategies to grow UK and Ireland revenue in all sales channels.
  • Leading and motivating a strong team, setting ambitious revenue/brand distribution & market share targets and ensuring it delivers levels of efficiency and effectiveness ahead of key competitors.
  • Building senior level customer contacts and raising the profile and reputation of the business, including JBPs that provide mutual benefits and tangible growth.
  • Playing a key role in the UK & Ireland leadership team, owning the strategic roadmap and delivering revenue and margin targets.

Skills Checklist

  • At least 10 years of robust commercial experience in FMCG or consumer healthcare.
  • Extensive experience working with leading grocery and chemist multiples.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial planning skills, able to see the big picture and manage the detail.
  • Highly results driven with exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills with a good grasp of relevant insight and financial data.
  • Proven team leadership, development and coaching skills.
