A leading NHS Trust in London are looking for an interim Senior Internal Communications Manager (mat cover position)

You will:

* ensure that internal communications are aligned with organisation's brand

* commission an annual audit of current internal communications to inform the trust's approach to internal communication

* regularly measure the effectiveness of internal communications messages and channels and make recommendations to review and amend the communications strategy and tactics as appropriate

* report to the management executive group and other key internal stakeholders at regular intervals to ensure the trust's internal communications approach is fit for purpose

* develop and lead a small team within the communications team which is dedicated to providing an excellent service, supporting colleagues with their intra- and inter-departmental communications.

* lead the delivery of the internal communications objectives set out in the trust's communications strategy, deploying traditional and digital channels to ensure that all staff, regardless of role, feel connected and that they have a voice

* develop a strategy to embed a formal cascade process which includes ensuring that all parts of the organisation can participate in two-way communication with their teams, managers and the senior leadership of the organisation

* following the launch of a new intranet this year, you will develop and implement an internal engagement strategy to inform, educate, and support the organisation's workforce to use the platform, and monitor and evaluate use of the new platform to inform its strategic development

* develop, maintain and keep under constant review internal communication channels designed to support the trust's five-year strategy

* develop and motivate your team to work effectively with each other and with the wider the communications team

* ensure a professional, responsive, efficient and friendly service to members of staff contacting the team for support with internal communications.
* have responsibility for the internal communications budget for the department
* Deputise for the Head of Communications when required


* Managing direct reports

* Intranet management and content management systems

* Proven organisational and project management

* Writing, editing and producing publications

* Maintaining effective relationships with organisational leadership

* Research and evaluation methods and techniques

* Management of a corporate team brief system

* Event organisation

* Development of policies

* Working with sensitive/confidential issues
