A retail business based in Greater Manchester are looking for an Events Manager to join them as soon as possible for an initial 12 month contract. This role has the potential to extend in to a permanent role for the right candidate.

Description

Key Responsibilities of the Events Manager:

* To research, plan, deliver and evaluate a broad range of events on time and within budget

* To work closely with senior management team,marketing team, partners and stakeholders to plan and deliver an annual programme of activity that meets core business needs

* To develop commercial elements of events to meet agreed targets and reduce annual event spend while maintaining quality and quantity

* To manage the team on the ground to ensure successful delivery of events, with particular emphasis on efficient, cost effective delivery and safe working systems and practices

* To ensure event messages and campaigns are communicated and delivered successfully

* To work with appropriate agencies and organisations to cross-promote events and develop partner links, and attend stakeholder meetings where appropriate

* To negotiate best value with approved suppliers across events and sites


Profile

The ideal Events Manager:

* Event planning/project management: a thorough knowledge and understanding of event planning and project management, including initial concept plans and creative ideas, clear and defined project pathways to deliver multiple event elements and systems for post-event evaluation

* Event Management: the ability to plan events with deliverable and clear systems of operation in place, to provide scalable staffing and infrastructure solutions to ensure successful delivery and to manage events teams and activities at all levels

* Budget Management: to closely manage event budgets and financial trackers and ensure event programmes stay within agreed budgets, to provide clearly presented accounts and costings summaries to senior management, to liaise with accounts teams and administration staff to ensure cash flow requirements are managed efficiently

* Health and Safety: a thorough knowledge and understanding of the risks and hazards associated with events, the ability to write and communicate risk assessments and operational plans and an up to date knowledge of legislation in relation to safe systems of work and HSE best practice in the events industry

IOSH Health & Safety (or equivalent)
