Senior Marketing & Events Executive - Silicon South - Dorset Digital Economy Growth Accelerator
£26,000 - £30,000 + pension contribution

Excellent opportunity for an outgoing person with an interest in the digital and creative sector to work at the heart of a challenging, new opportunity. If you are a natural networker that loves using social media we'd love to hear from you.

Our ambition is to help hundreds of people, working in the creative and digital sectors, to gain the advice and knowledge they need to advance themselves and/or their companies.

Who we are:

We’re a not-for-profit company which supports the development of individuals and companies working in the creative digital economy in in Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset. We offer a number of activities ourselves, but also promote as many opportunities, events and workshops being held across the region as we can.

At the same time, we promote the achievements of the region – highlighting the success of local companies, especially the people we work with – to improve the recognition of our sector as a leading location in the UK.

The Senior Marketing & Events Executive Role:

The role focuses on communications – although it’s pretty broad. Your first responsibility is to make sure people know what’s going on. You’ll run an ongoing social media strategy to share stories, news and events across several social channels. You’ll be responsible for sourcing the content and sending out our regular e-newsletter. You’ll also update the website.

The first aim is to keep everyone in the sector up to date with what’s going on (and what opportunities exist) across the region - and beyond; the second is to broaden the number of people we reach. So, you’ll need to liaise with partners, stakeholders & clients and actively go out to industry events and meetups.

You’ll get involved in organising a number of the events we provide. These include workshops and masterclasses as well as directors’ diners. We’re developing a new programme for people working at all levels in the industry to connect with others who can help them make big improvements to their working lives. You’ll be very involved in promoting this and helping potential participants connect and benefit from it.

About You:

This job will suit a highly motivated individual, with a passion for the creative and digital sector, who is looking to step up to their next challenge. You should have experience delivering communications or marketing campaigns. You should be self-motivated, efficient and able to take responsibility for your own work, although you’ll work closely with the Silicon South Director. You will have experience in writing engaging copy and running up-to-date social media activities. You will understand how to engage an audience, and be familiar with the local digital and creative sector.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator who will thrive on being out there, engaging with individuals and businesses. It’s a rare opportunity to get to know a very wide range of the people working across the region’s sector.

Your Background / Previous Roles May Include:
Digital Marketing, Events, Social PR, Communications
