We are an Arms-Length organisation, sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions, with a joint commitment to ensuring that people have access and guidance to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime.

As the External Affairs Executive, you will report directly to the External Affairs Manager and play an invaluable role in ensuring timely and effective engagement with the Money and Pension Service's key stakeholders. You will be responsible for supporting the communications outputs across the organisation, by developing and delivering Parliamentary briefings, stakeholder newsletters and blogs.

You will be reporting activity in Westminster and Whitehall and relevant EU institutions to highlight areas of relevance to MAS. You will also be supporting the PR and Media team with content to provide wider support for the corporate communications team and be using CRM to manage and support major external events including Talk Money Week and Pensions Week.

What you'll need to succeed

* You will have experience of managing External Affairs - ideally within central government.
* You will have an interest in financial markets or services and be knowledgeable of the workings of Westminster and Whitehall.
* You will have a passion for different communications channels and have professional verbal and written communication skills.
* You will have strong stakeholder management abilities and be able to organise small projects and a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.
* You will have Email-marketing experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
* If possible, you will have knowledge of using CMS systems.

What you'll get in return
You will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 and gain vital experience to path your career in External Affairs. You will also receive excellent benefits including life insurance, a generous pension scheme, season ticket loan, health services, discounted gym membership and more.

We actively encourage applications from candidates from all backgrounds, and are committed to having a team representative of the diverse characteristics and experiences of the population we're working to ensure make the most of their money and pensions now, and in future generations.
