A unique opportunity has come up to join an award winning government organisation as a Head of Head of Marketing Planning, Strategy and Insight based in London.

Client Details

* To lead and manage the development of annual marketing strategies, working closely and collaboratively with other teams to define the role of marketing and in the delivery of campaigns.

* To develop and promote a deep understanding of and insight into the audience(s) associated with each focus of activity.

* To develop understanding of audiences within the marketing function and wider directorate.

* To lead on strategy on key projects and across the Marketing departments, working with Directors on key pieces of departmental strategy.

* To lead on planning and developing insight-based marketing strategies based on quantified business targets and SMART objectives.

* To commission cross-cutting research including qualitative techniques such as ethnography and quantitative techniques such as shopper basket analysis as well as digital analysis such as social media listening.

* To ensure each campaign, activity and channel is fully evaluated and that this evaluation is acted upon to drive continuous improvement in marketing.

* To commission specialist evaluation advice including a range of methodologies, such as econometric analysis, agent-based modelling and field experiments.

* To lead the evaluation strategy of marketing programmes and oversee implementation of all evaluation activity.

* To oversee the preparation of submissions to the Cabinet Office and the evaluation cases submitted to follow up.

* Motivate, lead and inspire a team of planning and market research specialists, working closely with a second Head of Marketing Strategy and Planning and the Deputy Director.


* Proven track record of planning, evaluating social marketing programmes or campaigns at a senior level.

Experience of designing, implementing and evaluating local marketing pilots with a view to roll-out at a national scale.

Expertise in behaviour change theory and experience of applying models.

Track record of achieving results and affecting change working within complex approvals system.

Experience of using negotiation and influencing skills across a range of sectors to ensure programme objectives are met.

Job Offer

Salary of £63,000 - £65,000 per annum. Will consider permanent or fixed term contract for candidates.
