As the Community and Events Manager you will manage mass participation events and community engagement activities, which aim to increase awareness of the charities cause and ultimately fundraising income.

Our client is an environmental charity located in central London. Utilising their large supporter and membership base, they work to raise awareness of their cause and drive policy change for environmental issues on a local, regional and national level.


Description

You will be responsible for managing events and community engagement activities for the organisation, in order to raise awareness of its cause, engage new members and ultimately increase fundraising. Your duties will include:

* Planning and managing community activities and events aimed to educate and engage the new and existing supporters

* Managing portfolio budgets and developing relevant reports

* Devising and implementing portfolio strategies

* Develop the portfolio or events to meet income and engagement targets

* Work with internal teams and regional branches as well as external agencies and suppliers

* Be responsible for the service of supporters and donors

* Manage and develop team members


Profile

We are looking for an Events Manager from a charity background with extensive community fundraising experience including in large events, experience or interest in environmental causes is a must. Some essential skills include:

* A proven track record of engaging local audiences including businesses, individuals, organisations and policy makers with a view to increasing donations.

* Strong experience managing an events portfolio, including the team and budgets.

* Good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft suite

* Experience using a database to manage a membership base

* Can collaborate well with internal teams and external agencies

* Goal focused and works to a high standard





In addition to this some desirable criteria includes:

* Fundraising or Direct Marketing degree or similar

* Experience managing volunteers

* Experience developing marketing plans to promote events


Job Offer

Our client is willing to offer a competitive salary up to £43,500 depending on experience, in addition to a host of other benefits.
