Client Details

Brand new role with large international sporting organisation based in Manchester looking for a Digital Manager


The Digital Manager will be based in Manchester and will be responsible for executing and delivering the digital roadmap by the following methods:

* Ensure the customer experience across multiple channels is world class

* Develop a deep understanding of the customer digital experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth

* Recommend, oversee and monitor the implementation of the digital strategy, revenue opportunities and content development and activation across all digital platforms.

* Champion digital and innovation within the company, driving cross functional teams to design products around digital needs.

* Ensure the seamless integration of content marketing strategy, social media, optimised UX and technological functionality for all digital platforms and innovations.

* Define and effectively communicate digital-based roadmaps and proactively sell that vision to internal stakeholders.

* Lead the digital and social media team and collaborate across the business to drive a unified consumer-facing digital strategy.

* Provide ongoing thought-leadership across all aspects of digital, social and content marketing.

* Use experience of digital, social, CRM, brand marketing and strategic partnerships to shape activity with function leads, external agencies, media owners and brand partners.

* Partner with internal creative services and external agencies to develop platforms, campaigns and assets.

* Use analytical skills to plan, evaluate and optimise campaigns.


To be successful as the Digital Manager you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:

* Experience leading global media strategies and ideally working in another market.

* In-depth knowledge and understanding of the social ecosystem: media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, Twitter etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios.

* Experience developing content across multiple platforms and digital mediums, managing digital projects and making fact-based, data-driven recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.

* An experienced professional with extensive knowledge of growing/building social campaigns within an integrated team.

* Excellent understanding of user experience design.

* Strong technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development, web and mobile technologies.

* Social and digital strategy experience.

* Currently oversees a team of social subject matter experts.

* Experience around e-commerce is essential, as is experience developing digital marketing initiatives to support digital commerce and brand objectives.

* Strong management skills and international business exposure.

* Budgeting procedures and financial control across projects.

* Using data and insights to inform strategy and channel-optimisation.

* Strategically understands all digital channels.

* A flexible and collaborative style, with a naturally consultative approach.

* Extensive experience in a customer driven organisation with a customer first mindset.

* Desire to seek out and embrace new ways of working.

* A strong communicator with the ability to lead teams.

* Budget management experience.

* Stakeholder management experience.

* Experience in working in an international, multi-cultural setting.

* A team player with a passion for sports and an ability to motivate others.

* Self-motivated and dynamic personality with entrepreneurial and strategic thinking
