The Research Director is a newly created, exciting role aimed at developing and delivering the Charity's research objectives. It is a vital key executive position within the Charity responsible for research and evaluation projects within our clinical service.

Description

The key responsibilities for the Director of research include:

Plan, design and prepare a range of research activities to support the design, development and continuous improvement of all charity's services
*

Review, monitor and analyse historical and new data owned by the charity to produce robust evidence-based conclusions
*

Engage with staff at all levels across the organisation to enhance evaluation, audit and research activities
*

To participate in multi-disciplinary clinical discussion and review of clinical activities/caseloads as related to service evaluation, audit and research activities
*

Lead on a wide range of research activities including recruiting participants for external collaborations
*

Develop and implement collaborative research projects with external partners and stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong working relationships.
*

Develop internal research projects, liaising with local University Research and Development Departments
*

Work closely with the Clinical Team to implement and maintain effective and robust systems for data collection, management, analysis and reporting
*

Generate testable research questions, design and carry out research studies, analyse both qualitative and quantitative data, create formal reports, literature reviews and produce journal publications
*

Produce tables, fact sheets, graphs and reports for presentation in monthly board meeting and ad hoc as and when required
*

Liaise with the charity's Communications Team to support and deliver evidenced-based news stories, impact reports and internal communications.


Profile

The successful candidate will be:

*

PhD or demonstrable evidence of equivalent training and experience. A Qualification in Psychology, Neuroscience or other related scientific field would be beneficial
* Extensive research experience with experience in leadership roles
* Experienced in cross discipline research initiatives and collaborations
* Prior clinical and/or research experience in autism or related developmental conditions
* Experience working in the charity/third/non profit sector is desirable
* Knowledge of regulatory, ethical and contractual research requirements
* Proven track record of analysing data and producing reports
