The Technical Project Manager (Part-time) will managing an external development agency to ensure that the client receiving an efficient and effective service.

Client Details

Based in London, this client sits at a unique intersection between the public sector, not for profit, and retail. Their purpose is to cultivate the British economy through various means, particularly via international partnerships, world-class digital services, and product sales & exports.

Through a global network in 4 key regions - Europe, the Americas, APMEA, China and North East Asia - they implement marketing strategies based on customer insight, knowledge of the barriers to growth and solutions for addressing them.


The Technical Project Manager (Part-time) will provide leadership, change management, industry best practice and Agile project management insights and will need to be able to build relationships with a host of people at different levels internally and externally. They will need to be very comfortable influencing, mentoring and supporting others to adopt new ways of working and thinking. They will also need to deliver exemplar models of digital delivery and agile project management implementation.

Key accountabilities include:

* Process Management and Improvement - define and manage well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management.

* Technical advice and leadership - provide insights and tangible proposals for customer centric opportunities across B2B and B2C short, medium and long term based on the corporate objectives.

* Project Planning and Management - define project scope and schedule while focusing on regular and timely delivery of value; organise and lead project status and working meetings; prepare and distribute progress reports; manage risks and issues; correct deviations from plans; and perform delivery planning for assigned projects

* Team Management - assist in team development, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members


The successful Technical Project Manager will be well-versed in:

* Agile project management experience; across a range of projects including technical and business projects

* Experience of working to agile project approaches or methodologies, e.g. Agile methodology like Agile PM or Scrum or use of tools like Jira.

* Experience of scoping, planning, controlling and monitoring projects against agreed scope as well as delivering within agreed constraints of time and cost and to the required quality standards.

* Ability to work with business stakeholders to produce relevant and sufficiently detailed requirements to achieve successful delivery for the business.

* Excellent communicator with strong influencing skills, motivational with a desire to succeed.

* Proven experience of leading, managing and mentoring multi-disciplinary project teams delivering business objectives.

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with attention to detail and quality.

* Experience of producing regular written project reports showing clear status updates.

* The ability to identify risks, issues and dependencies, manage them through a RAID log and provide escalations and recommendations where required.

Job Offer

The Technical Project Manager (Part-time) will secure a 6 month temporary contract, earning £200-300 per day depending on competency, working with a wonderful public sector and government organisation.
