A fantastic opportunity exists for Business Development Manager to join a small, but highly regarded Global Markets team with a unique remit.

Sitting within the wider Client Sectors and Markets team, the focus of Global Markets is to manage the firm's business development strategy and activates in all of the geographies in which the firm's clients are seeking to transact or are facing issues. The Global Markets team works globally to grow business the firm does for key clients in emerging markets and other geographies where the firm operates via in-country partner law firms. It does this through the identification of client issues and aspirations and emerging market trends in order to develop best-in-class marketing outputs, which target at the firm's most important clients. The role will support the development and implementation of the Global Markets strategy and will involve understanding the global trade and transactional landscape, identifying related client issues, mapping out emerging market trends, defining and articulating the firm's USP in relevant markets and regions, and leveraging internal relationships to win mandates. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with in-country local counsel and intermediaries in order to identify tangible opportunities to grow the business the firm does for key clients and subsequently turn these into tangible marketing and BD outputs which move the dial with clients. The successful applicant will also work closely with colleagues on strategically important pitches and be responsible for at least one client account, providing CRM support as necessary.

This role is both strategic and hands-on and the ideal candidate will be bright and commercial with previous experience gained in a legal or professional services firm of working with senior professionals in an international environment to include experience developing propositions and taking them into global markets, dealing with business analytics, managing projects and implementing strategies. Dynamic and creative, with the ability to challenge, drive and make suggestions as well as execute and take direction, the Business Development Manager should be able to provide a track record of delivery and results in international marketing and business development, including working with colleagues across different time zones.
