As a PR & communications advisor, you will take a lead in developing, promoting and enhancing the profile and media output of the business.

Description

* You will work with the business to act as a trusted advisor on PR and communications with customers and colleague
* Working with a specialist agency, you will proactively develop and implement a programme of PR activity to raise our media profile, including stories in national, trade and local press, interviews and contact with key politicians and influencers
* You will develop and maintain contacts with key stakeholders including politicians and reporters
* You will respond to media enquiries and provide the business with an early warning of potential issues
* You will provide advice and support to promote key activities and successes, for example new developments
* You will oversee the development and implementation of a programme of internal and external communications
* You will ensure that we digitise our communications output with a major focus on social media, website copy and the colleague hub (intranet)
* You will support marketing activity for the business and especially in relation to shared ownership
* You will ensure the design and production of key communication events and physical or digital media including the colleague conference and our strategies and reports
* You will support the preparation of the communications budget
* You will positively support activities that help promote our new culture and behaviours


Profile

* Ability to build relationships with the business and to act as a trusted advisor
* Ability to draft effective communications (e.g. press releases, briefing notes for journalists etc.)
* Experience in PR or communications
* Excellent knowledge of the media and ability to build and maintain relevant contacts (e.g. reporters at inside housing, guardian etc.)
* Proactive and with an eye for a good story
* Ability to manage complex projects
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills
* Strong management and coaching skills
* Approachable, friendly and with a commitment to delivering a high-quality experience for customers and colleagues
* Flexible and works collaboratively
* Innovative and embraces change
