Excellent opportunity for smart, curious, senior insight & research specialist to bring his/her skills to a challenging and busy role with a global FMCG business with a host of must-stock, much-loved consumer brands.  Working with heavyweight brand and commercial teams, this is a key role requiring exceptional ad-hoc and continuous insights skills, almost certainly with some experience gained client-side.  Managing a wide range of projects from brand equity, category strategy, advertising & communications, digital and shopper insights, this is a role that will give you extensive senior level exposure and the opportunity to really shape consumer and shopper strategies.  Strong analytical thinking and communications skills are essential.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing business objectives with brand and commercial teams to develop insight & research plans that will shape marketing and launch strategies for each brand.
  • Ensuring the consumer and shopper are at the heart of business and marketing decision making in relation to brand strategy, innovation and range extension launches.
  • Day to day responsibility for all consumer insight for a portfolio of brands, liaising with global insights teams to combine findings and minimize duplication.
  • Using consumer understanding to shape advertising & commutations objectives and strategies, and evaluating the effectiveness of different initiatives.
  • Developing best practice insight disciplines, ensuring the latest thinking on methodologies and business approach are employed.

Candidate Profile

Proven experience in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG business is key for this challenging role, almost certainly with a robust agency-side training too.  You will have been exposed to a wide range of research methodologies and enjoy seeking out new ways to get under the consumer and shopper’s skin.  You will be a smart and structured thinker with the ability to make complex issues simple and bring common sense and judgement to issues.  A self-starter with restless energy and curiosity about consumers, shoppers and brands, you will enjoy working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, consistently looking to drive business results.  Your approach will be optimistic and can-do; someone who can flex his or her style to influence and build relationships with a broad set of people and agendas.
