Your new company
Your new role will see you working for a well known Christian charity. Hostility, violence and abuse of Christians around the globe is on the increase, this charity works in over 60 countries ensuring that those facing persecution for being a Christian are not forgotten.

Your new role
You will lead a small but exceptionally talented team, which is a combination of staff and freelance writers. You will need to curate and deliver outstanding content and tell the story of persecuted Christians. You will commission, write and edit copy in different styles for multiple platforms and for a variety of audiences. The use of insight into supporter behaviour, needs and response will guide the selection and use of content within the role. You need to have a profound understanding of the Bible and an ability to communicate passionately in ways that resonate with supporters' faith and values. In terms of working relationships, you will work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager and other Marketing Project Managers as well as overseeing a team of contributors, creating and commissioning content for digital and print channels. A big responsibility within the role is that you must ensure consistent quality, tone of voice, adherence to brand and security guidelines.

What you'll need to succeed
Because of the essential Christian context and nature of content you will be dealing with, the role is subject to an occupational requirement under the Equality Act that the post-holder be a practising Christian. To be successful you will need to convey the needs of persecuted Christian through a variety of digital and print channels and it is essential that this is done with due care and attention to security requirements. Your writing and editing skills, high levels of literacy and the ability to create and edit copy to a high standard of accuracy and fluency will all be key elements in how you perform. You must ensure that you demonstrate significant experience and proven ability of consistently producing high quality work to meet deadlines as well as the ability to write to different audiences. As an Individual you should be able to; work effectively under pressure, have a mature outlook as well as being emotionally resilient. You will also need to line manage writers understand communications best practice and fully absorb Open Doors' brand and core values.
