What do you think really motivates a business? What does it truely stand for and how can that passion be crafted to engage with all stakeholders, from employees to customers, shareholders and investors?

This is the challenge awaiting the Strategic Marketing Manager in this newly created post for a market leading tourist business. To drill down with the MD and CMO and clarify the vision, propositions and Brand guidelines which capture their true motivation. They want to build a brand which shares their love of responsible tourism, their commitment to the land and people who live where they ply their trade.

To do this you must build clear communications across all channels, monitor the impact and continually improve the clarity of that messaging. Take ownership of how the brand is created and then delivered to create something that stands out.

They have already built a culture based on a shared commitment to the environment in which they work and it is crucial that this is maintained wherever in the world you may be based. You will get the opportunity several times a year to really submerse yourself in it and go out to Africa to spend time at their locations.

This role offers true flexibility to the successful applicant. They will support you working in any region of the UK, whether that means hiring co-working space in a city centre or helping you set up from home. You will need to go to South East England regularly and for the first few months you will probably spend half the working week there to allow the time with the group CMO and get to grips with the business. The role will report directly into the MD so there will also be regular need to meet up with him, probably in London. Flexibility therefore cuts both ways and you will need to be prepared to travel where required.

To be successful, they are looking for someone who has a proven track record of working with high profile brands, ideally taking them in new directions and someone who has clear cut ideas about how to drive the brand strategy forwards. This role offers the rare opportunity to join a business which lives and breathes its values in everything it does, your challenge is to build the brand which allows the rest of the world to see what they are doing.
