Your New Role

You will be working for a Government body, within the healthcare sector. Reporting to the Director of Governance, the post develops direct relationships with the Chief Executive, Chair, and other members of the Executive Team, to provide specialist communications and engagement strategies up to a period of 5 months. Improving connectivity between the leadership of the Trust, front line staff and the public.

The post holder will lead the development and delivery of a communications and engagement programme, along with other, key organisational strategies and regional strategies. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring patients, donors, the public and key stakeholders understand the case for change and have the opportunity to feed into the organisation's future strategic direction, developing clear channels of communication both within the Trust and the wider external audience. This will be achieved through the development, delivery and evaluation of a comprehensive communications strategy and public engagement strategy to help the Trust move forward in a more robust, planned and evaluative manner.

The post holder will build and maintain a positive reputation for working collaboratively and openly with key stakeholders, patients, partners and the public. The post holder will do this through effective implementation and continual development of the Trust's communication and engagement function and through close working with communication and engagement teams within the Trust and partner organisations.

What you'll need to succeed


* Minimum five years' relevant PR or Communications experience
* Proven experience of working in the communications function of a large complex organisation
* Experience of dealing with a variety of professionals and staff at different levels
* Experience of the development and delivery of communications policies and strategies
* Experience of/ability to work with and advise senior management team
* Extensive experience of both internal and external communications (including event organisation and design and production)
* Demonstrable experience of crisis management.
* Proven experience of managing or supervising staff
* Experience of communications/PR in the public sector
* Experience of website management and development
* Able to demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills, displaying credibility, influence and political acumen
