English Heritage cares for over 400 historic monuments, buildings and sites – from world famous prehistoric sites to grand medieval castles, from Roman Forts on the edge of Empire to Cold War sites. Through these we bring the story of England to life for over 10 million visitors each year. No matter what they do and where they do it, our people play their part in protecting and presenting some of the greatest places in England for the benefit and enjoyment of our visitors.
Our collection of sites across England offers some of the most inspiring and unique historic days out in England, which are enjoyed by over a million visitors each year.
We need experienced, passionate marketing professionals with a track record in creating and delivering successful consumer-facing marketing campaigns to drive visitors to our properties and events, in order to meet our commercial objectives.
You’ll have a track record of developing and delivering marketing campaigns firmly based on customer insight, which achieves stretching business targets and increases brand awareness and engagement.
You’ll be an excellent communicator; someone who thrives on working in a collaborative manner, as close working with other colleagues in the territory and across all departments, will be vital to the role. You will also work closely with the National Campaigns team, ensuring that all our marketing campaign activity responds to local opportunities and site requirements, as well as colleagues across Brand and Design, PR and Content teams, ensuring all campaigns are delivered in an integrated way across all our channels.
We are a very busy department, so you’ll need to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as having strong planning and organisational skills and an ability to manage high volumes of work effectively.
If you are an experienced marketing professional, who relishes the challenge to work within the highly competitive tourism sector; who understands how to really get under the skin of a fantastic brand such as English Heritage and can create exciting and engaging ways to communicate with our audiences, you may just be the person we are looking for.
