The role of the PR Manager is as follows:

* Uphold, safeguard and promote the reputation and values of the organisation throughout all internal and external business relationships and activities.

* Manage all reactive press enquiries and crisis situations, engaging with and reporting into relevant regional leadership personnel, and internal stakeholders to deliver cohesive, tailored communications in order to protect the brand's reputation.

* Cover other regional press offices on behalf of PR Managers

* Develop and deliver consistent, targeted messaging across all proactive and reactive communications, which both reflects the brand's personality and engages with core customer groups in innovative and impactful ways.

* Work closely with the regional Head of Marketing to implement fully-costed strategic localised PR campaigns that are consistent with the overarching marketing strategy.

* Responsibility for organisation of events to drive engagement.

* Create and deliver the PR vision, ensuring enhanced business performance though improved press and stakeholder relations.

* Ensuring PR supports and integrates with all other marketing communication channels, particularly social, web and offline campaigns.

* Strengthen brand presence within the trade press through the placement of targeted thought-leadership features and news articles, whilst enhancing and protecting the brand's reputation by building and sustaining robust relationships with journalists and stakeholders alike.

* Generate 'good news' stories through the use of National Days and local human interest story campaigns, to be communicated through PR, social media and using own channels

* Diversity - Be an ambassador for, promote and implement the Diversity Policy at all times.


* At least 3 years' experience within a similar PR-specific in-house position, or at an agency level of Account Manager/ Senior Account Manager

* A strong track record in proactive and reactive media relations, including crisis management

* Ability to understand, influence people and work in a team

* Extensive event management experience

* Strong planning and organisational skills, with ability to juggle a large number of projects and sound judgement under pressure

* Proved experience of working in a rapid and reactive environment, with a high-volume workload

* Budget management experience

* An understanding of media relations as a part of wider communication strategies and experience of executing multi-channel campaigns

* Strong written and oral English language skills - able to write clearly, effectively and succinctly and to transform complex content into understandable, concise copy

* Strong attention to detail with excellent grammar

* A high level of creativity balanced with commercial awareness gained from working closely with other marketing and commercial personnel.

* The ability to measure, review and report on PR campaigns

* Proactive, positive problem solving approach, with a can-do attitude

* Significant project management experience linked to multi channel campaigns and promotions

* Showcases initiative and an infectious enthusiasm for the customer

* Confident manner, with the ability to communicate at multiple levels
