You will be working for a leading educational body in central Bristol, on their programme to develop a new campus, that will deliver immense benefits to the city of Bristol and beyond. The role is a 6-month, maternity cover contract, ending in October.

Your new company

Your position will work alongside and report to the Head of Campaigns. You will play an important role in developing and maintaining a steady stream of communication activity and fresh content for the programme. You will need to have good all-round communications skills, plan and deliver PR activities, understand the importance of audience insight and have experience of channel planning. My client is looking for someone who can write clearly and develop creative content ideas. This is a busy and exciting programme, so strong project management skills are essential.

Main Responsibilities:

* Review existing sources of insight (including previous communication activity) to understand the overall context for communication and audience influences/influencers.
* Translate quantitative and qualitative data to identify stakeholder and audience insights so that this can be used to inform communication activity that will resonate with the target audience.
* Understand and know where to find the range of staff and student insight sources (both quantitative and qualitative) available within the institution.
* Gather insight on staff communication usage, needs and preferences. Use this data to inform selection of internal communications channels.
* Demonstrate good written and oral communications skills. Write clearly, concisely and accurately in plain, simple language and check work for spelling and grammar, learning from previous inaccuracies.
* Keep up to date with issues that affect the institution and relate to the work of the Division.
* Use insight to identify target audiences and partners, support decision-making and help inform the overall communication approach.
* Demonstrate an understanding of communication objectives and how these will contribute to and support overall institutional policy.
* Develop outline communication plans, identifying the most effective channels and tools to engage audiences and maximise reach.
* Design and develop engaging targeted content and messages suitable for use across a range of channels.
* Demonstrate an awareness of how channels work together and complement each other.
* Provide advice on appropriate use of different channels for campaigns, using digital technologies to full potential, making sure that there is an integrated approach so that audiences get a consistent message regardless of the channel they use and that the messages are where audiences would expect to find them.
* Demonstrate a practical understanding of institution, functions, roles and communication requirements, to enable the design of contextualised and tailored content for internal and external audiences.
