A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a Top 50 UK law firm based in either their London, Nottingham, Birmingham or Manchester offices. The role holder will work as part of a fantastic Client and Marketing department, and will focus on developing sector strategy by driving key client development, new business development and lead on sector activity such as campaigns.

The Business Development Manager will enjoy a broad role and will enjoy BD budgetary responsibility for the sector, from initial planning stage through to monitoring and reviewing spend versus budget throughout the year. Leading the way in best practice learning from inside and outside the sector, and ensuring quality deliverables within deadlines, your focus should be in reducing volume, increasing quality and improving results.You will be expected to develop a detailed understanding of the Private Sector, key developments and how this impacts the firm and their clients, disseminating market intelligence to the sector team, and working with the Private Sector leadership team to develop a BD & marketing plan based on the strategic business plan, including reporting on key milestones. The successful candidate will be responsible for sector key client management and will work with the bids team to provide input to tender and pitch submissions for clients and target clients. On the marketing side, you will work collaboratively to implement the full marketing plan and to deliver thought leadership campaigns including identifying topics, managing the end to end campaign and evaluating ROI from the activity.

This role would suit a bright graduate or equivalent with proven track record of marketing and business development experience, ideally gained in the legal or professional services sector. The Business Development Manager will possess excellent project management and communication skills and a passion for detail. Resilient and proactive, you will also enjoy working under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of the Private Sector would be an advantage.
