One of the largest professional services firms in the world requires a dynamic senior manager level candidate to become a key member of the Sales & Marketing team and to lead Sales for the firm's Assurance business. The role holder will be based in either London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds or Reading.

The role offers a significant development opportunity for senior managers seeking to make a step change and increase their business influence and impact. The successful candidate will be involved in shaping the Sales strategy and will be responsible for overseeing the development, planning and delivery of key sales programmes for this diverse, sizeable and fast evolving business line. To make an impact you will need to be self-starting and inquisitive in order to develop a thorough understanding of the strategic drivers for the business and the markets in which it operates. Reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing for Assurance and working closely with the Assurance leadership, you can expect challenge and ample scope to develop. You will be expected to lead and manage sales support specialists and generalists, encouraging creativity and innovation within your team and having the confidence and resilience to put forward different concepts and ideas. The Head of Sales will manage a team of approximately twenty, so experience of leading teams and a proven track record of delivering a broad mix of sales enablement programmes is essential. You will need to be a role model to other team members, coaching, developing and inspiring junior team members to become highly effective specialists. Specific responsibilities will include setting out a sales strategy and overseeing the design and delivery of a programme to support the development of a sales culture within Assurance; driving and co-ordinating national sales efforts on sales campaigns and sales sprints; providing strategic challenge and intervention on the pipeline and key opportunities; working closely with marketing to ensure drive opportunities from marketing campaigns; leading a world class Pursuit & Proposals team; and ensuring proactive use of Salesforce to drive sales strategy, increase winning behaviours and focus bidding activity on the right opportunities.

The Head of Sales will be of graduate calibre with a proven track record in business development, sales and client relationship management, ideally within a professional services environment. An expert understanding of sales enablement programmes and sales support and strong knowledge of both targeting and opportunity management, with the ability to implement both strategic and tactical initiatives, and of SPIN, Miller Heiman or another relationship or sales methodology and proven experience in driving opportunities through to revenue will be essential. Client focused with strong relationship skills, candidates must be creative and innovative thinkers with proven project, bid and people management and development skills with experience of managing and developing teams. Excellent influencing and powerful communication skills will be key to success in this exciting role.
