A central government organisation is looking for an Assistant Director to join and assist in leading their busy retail Marketing directorate. The organisation is progressive and enthusiastic about heir future plan and encourages a proactive and collaborative environment. This role is critical in forming the bridge between: customer understanding and insight the functionality offered by the organisations current IT platforms and the proposition developed by the Product & New Propositions Team, the Customer Experience Team and Operational Delivery Teams. This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional looking for a role that will be a change of scenery and provide autonomy and management of multiple teams.

Your new role

You will be responsible for:

* Leading the Customer Experience, Digital, Innovation, Brand & Customer Communications, Insight and engagement teams
* Overall responsibility to develop and implement the core strategic insight driven customer experience, customer experience principles and key customer journeys.
* Creating and implementing design and key digital, social media, customer, engagement, brand design and content strategies in support of overall customer centric offer.
* Determining and drive the interventions at both a tactical (short-term) and strategic (medium-to-long term) level in conjunction with the Product & Propositions Team and Customer Experience team.
* Driving digital innovation, identifying key capabilities required for the longer term to facilitate digital ambitions
* Acting as deputy project sponsor and lead the joint Customer Experience team, defining and managing customer related change by and deploy team to act as business manager or agile product manager on key strategic projects
* Acting as a customer champion, be a role model and agent, creating and embedding an insight driven customer centric and digital first culture

What you'll need to succeed

You will have:


* Substantial experience and demonstrable success in leading channel management within a direct or digital business
* Strategic and operational management with a customer strategy and digital development focus
* Managing complex and conflicting change and delivering customer centric propositions within an agile and regulated environment  Working in a major outsourced business environment
* Working in consumer-focused financial services and/or retail is essential Knowledge
* In-depth knowledge of customer behaviour and demonstrable experience of developing propositions and strategies to align for commercial benefit
* Relevant university degree (customer experience/business discipline)
* A highly customer-focused individual with a proactive, 'can- do' attitude, with the drive, commitment and vision to enhance the customer offer to the market and deliver that vision throughout the business including strategic partners, adding value to all key stakeholders
* Ability to understand customer value creation potential and value drivers.
* Have a deep understanding of customer needs, attitudes and behaviours.
* An ability to motivate, educate and empower immediate team and influence partnership teams
* Ability to 'think outside the box' and create alternative and innovative approaches to business problems
* Strong interpersonal, relationship building and communication skills
* Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and be flexible in approach
* Strong customer advocate with a willingness to challenge at all levels on their behalf
