One of the largest professional services firms in the world is looking for an experienced Business Development professional to support their regional and cross-Industry Priority Client Programme, with the objective of driving revenue growth across core Tax, People and Organisation and Legal services. The successful candidate will be based in either London, Birmingham, the East Midlands or Milton Keynes.

The role holder will report directly to the Sales and Marketing Director for Tax, but will also be closely aligned to the New Business team. The firm is looking for someone who is comfortable in front of clients and has a track record of building strong relationships with key decision makers. You will be expected to use your sales expertise, knowledge of the firm's products and services and sector specialism to build credibility with clients and internal stakeholders and identify new business opportunities. Working with Partners and subject matter experts, you will develop the overarching sales strategy for specific markets and sectors, including development of sales materials to support client conversations. It will be important for the Business Development Manager or Senior Manager to establish a network of commercial relationships with key buyers for Tax, Legal and People and a pipeline of new business opportunities. You will be responsible for driving external client facing activity and will lead account planning meetings, ensuring they are client focused, commercial and actions are delivered upon. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coaching Partners on business development best practice, delivering key national campaigns as required and ensuring messages and learning's from client feedback are shared and acted upon. Accurately recording all business development in the firm's CRM system to evidence performance and ROI will represent an important part of the role.

The Business Development Manager or Senior Manager will be of graduate calibre or equivalent and will possess both significant experience in a new business development role and a proven ability to drive and develop a pipeline of opportunities in a complex organisation with service focused propositions. Strong knowledge of Pursuit, SPIN, Miller Heiman or another relationship or sales methodology along with evidence of using in practice to drive opportunities through to revenue will be essential while previous experience of working with SalesForce is preferential and a passion for analytics would be beneficial. The successful applicant will also be able to demonstrate a proven ability to develop and manage relationships with key decision makers at key accounts and a track record of generating revenue with new relationships. In addition, strong business and commercial acumen allied to excellent influencing and powerful communication skills will be key to success in this exciting role. Experience of professional services would be preferable albeit not essential.
